Sextant Navigation Services, LLC was formed on June 30, 2006. At Sextant Navigation we believe that offering our clients a good product at a fair price is not enough. We want to offer our clients something better, a company with personalized service that is here to stay. In addition we want to offer our clients a product that they cannot get anywhere else.

Russell W. Sommers Began working in the Offshore Survey Industry January 1989, in 1995 became the Operations Manager over all Positioning projects at a small Offshore Survey Company. To date he has 18 years of Offshore Survey experience including 11 years in the management of Shallow Water Offshore Navigation Projects.

Daniel R. LeCompte started working as an offshore surveyor in November 2000 where he first met up with Russell at a small offshore survey company. He now has 8 years of survey experience. In 2003 Russel went his separate way and they met back up 2 years later at Bisso Marine Co.

Sextant Navigation began by supplying Mapping and Drafting services to Bisso Marine Company, Inc. in support of their expanded Pipeline Construction Division. In the future we hope to become a reliable, efficient service for other offshore construction companies.
